One look is enough: this place has something magical. Blue and green flow into each other in an almost incomparable way. Like a shining eye from the depths of the earth, source of myths, fairy tales and all sorts of wondrous stories.

One of the most beautiful is probably the “History of the Beautiful Lau”, in which Eduard Mörike tells how a water nymph learns to laugh again at the Blautopf. A stone sculpture on the shore commemorates her … and even today she is said to be briefly visible on some days in the depths of the source funnel.
